The collection consists of election materials, including sample ballots and endorsements; program, speeches, and correspondence from a 1952 testimonial dinner honoring Kramer; a memorial resolution by the Cleveland Bar Association; and an incomplete composition titled "The Citizen king."

 Abstract:  Manuel Levine (1881-1939) was a Russian Jew who immigrated to Cleveland, Ohio, in 1897 and became a lawyer and judge, rising to the position of Chief Justice of the Court of Appeals of Ohio. Levine was also interested in the preparation of the immigrant for citizenship and was president of the Cleveland Immigration League. The collection consists of correspondence, speeches by and about Levine, reports, legal documents, financial records such as receipts and bills of sale, photocopies of scrapbooks containing newspaper clippings, and copies of miscellaneous newspaper clippings, most of which relate to Judge Levine's career or to developments in the legal profession during the 1920s and 1930s.

He is a descendant of the Gallagher family that traces its history to Achillbeg Island, County Mayo, Ireland, and the Casey family of County Kerry, Ireland. The Gallagher family immigrated to the United States in 1930, settling in Cleveland, Ohio, and are very active in the Irish American community there, particularly the West Side and East Side Irish American Clubs.  Abstract:  John V. Corrigan was a Cleveland, Ohio, Irish American lawyer and judge who served in the Ohio House of Representatives, as a judge on the Cleveland Municipal Court, Cuyahoga County Court of Common Pleas, as chief justice of the Cuyahoga County Court of Common Pleas, and on the Ohio Court of Appeals. He was active in several philanthropic and cultural organizations, including the Children's Council and the Executive Committee of the Cleveland Cultural Gardens. The collection consists of articles of incorporation of the Irish Cultural Garden, a biographical sketch of John V. Corrigan, a book, a bulletin, conference papers, correspondence, historical data regarding the Irish cultural Garden, newspaper clippings, pamphlets, programs, and speeches.

 Abstract:  Carl Stokes was the mayor of Cleveland, Ohio from 1967-1971. Stokes was the first African American mayor of a major American city and the first African American Democrat in the Ohio State Legislature, where he served three terms from 1962-1967. As mayor, Stokes launched a number of programs to alleviate the problems of urban decay. Chief among these was Cleveland: NOW!, a joint public and private program with plans to raise $177 million in its first two years to revitalize Cleveland. The program was discredited due to the Glenville Shootout in July, 1968. Under Stokes, Cleveland City Council passed the Equal Employment Opportunity Ordinance, and HUD resumed funding projects aiding in the construction of over 3,000 new low- and middle-income housing units. Stokes became a newscaster with NBC television in 1972, and returned to his law practice in Cleveland in 1980. In 1983, Stokes was elected a municipal court judge. The collection consists of speeches, correspondence, datebooks, budgets, lectures, newspaper clippings, publications, telegrams, reports, resumes, agendas, press releases, programs, flyers, certificates, legal documents, newsletters, transcripts, proposals, lists, minutes, and a yearbook.

Fleming was also involved in Masonry.  Abstract:  George J. McMonagle was born in Cleveland, Ohio, in 1906 of Irish descent. A graduate of Cleveland Marshall Law School in 1930, he practiced law for 34 years. In 1964, he was appointed a judge in the Cuyahoga County Court of Common Pleas, winning election to that office in 1966. He retired in 1997. McMonagle has been active in Irish organizations in Cleveland, including as a charter member of the Irish Civic Association, founded in 1942, and as a member of the Irish Goodfellowship Club. An annual activity of the Irish Civic Association was the organization of the St. Patrick's Day parade and banquet. The two groups maintain a close relationship; the Civic Association's banquet also serves to honor the Goodfellowship Club's "Man of the Year." the collection consists of personal papers of George J. McMonagle and also records of the Irish Civic Association, which he served as secretary and president. Included is general correspondence concerning the Irish Civic Association, specific correspondence concerning that group's articles of incorporation, a statement of continued existence, eleven issues of the newspaper The Irish-American covering the years 1939-1944, a membership list (1942) of the Irish Civic Association, articles of incorporation for the Irish Goodfellowship Club (1910), a compilation of Irish nicknames, speeches by George J. McMonagle, and newspaper clippings concerning Judge James C. Connell.

 Abstract:  Albert A. Woldman was a Cleveland, Ohio, lawyer, author, teacher, speechwriter, administrator and judge who served in various state and local governmental positions during his professional career. Born in Vilna, Lithuania, his family emigrated from there in 1901 to Cleveland. After graduation from Ohio Northern University College of Law in 1919, Woldman began a private law practice and taught at John Marshall Law School. In 1941, he was appointed assistant law director for the city of Cleveland. He also was a speech writer for Mayor Frank Lausche. After Lausche was elected governor of Ohio in 1944, he appointed Woldman to chair the Ohio Unemployment Compensation Board of Review. In 1949 Lausche appointed him director of the Department of Industrial Relations. In 1953, he was appointed to fill an unexpired term as judge of the Juvenile Court of Cuyahoga County. He remained a judge until his retirement in 1968. Woldman was also active in several Jewish community organizations. He was founder and first president of the Cleveland Hebrew Young Men's and Women's Association in the 1920s. In the 1940s he served as president of B'nai B'rith District No. 2 in Cleveland. He also authored two books on Abraham Lincoln, Lawyer Lincoln and Lincoln and the Russians. He married Lydia Levin of Cleveland in 1921, and had three children; Dr. Robert, Stuart, and Phyllis Woldman Klein. The collection consists of correspondence, drafts of writings, addresses on the subjects of juvenile delinquency and Abraham Lincoln, articles concerning the Constitution of the United States, correspondence, minutes and reports concerning the Cuyahoga County Juvenile Court.
